For those of you who are obsessed with been Mayor on Foursquare here is an application (whenwillibemayor.com). This application connects to the Foursquare API to your account via OAuth. It will tell you in all the locations you have checked in to so far how many more check in you need to become Mayor of the location. It also tells you the current Mayor of these locations whom you have the potential to “de-throne”. You can also search by location and Venue. The application also gives you a nice little pie chart based on the locations you visit. I can see how this data is fun for a user. However, if whenwillibemayor.com can collect enough data on enough people it can start recommending locations based on your past history especially if you are in a new city, for example if you like going to Starbucks while in Dublin, then if you go on a trip to and check into a location in San Diego it will tell you the where the nearest Starbucks is in this city.
Facebook are starting to use their Facebook page to communicate more effectivley, for example as well as keeping you up to date with the latest news they are starting to deliver useful videos such as the one below. Up to now communicating and expecially from a customer service persepective they have been poor. I often get calls from Clients with small questions from client issues with trying to find anything on the Facebook help pages.
