Blogtalk 2010 Galway was a great experience, over the 2 days there was an incredible range of speakers. Despite the fact it was called BlogTalk, it was anything but “Talk about Blogs”. However, there was a lot of talk about Social Media, the Social Web and Social Software.
Social Bits will be running a workshop on how to use Linkedin for business networking. This workshop will take place on the 17th of September. Networking is an essential part of business, relationships matter, Linkedin enables you to accelerate business networking. LinkedIn has over 75 million members in over 200 countries, it is a network for professionals. This workshop deliver the basics of the Linkedin interface and features, and will then progress to building connections and business opportunities.
I have seen a few blog posts saying that Facebook is going to add a geolocation “check-in” feature this week, possible tomorrow. This has been rumoured for a while but it looks like it is going to happen. This will futher compund the importace of location, will facebook joining some of the other players in the space such as Google (with Google Latitude), Foursquare (who recently recived an additional $20 Million in funding), Gowalla and Twitter.
